When I first started exploring personal development and digging down past my defenses and conditioning to find a more authentic version of myself, I thought the aim was to “fix myself” so I could be “happy”.

...they made clear that if they had a need, she would be the one they’d call because they knew she cared about them.
Self-improvement isn’t a bad thing.
I don’t think I leave a diaconate conversation without hearing about the struggle deacons face regarding helping vs. hurting, enabling vs. empowering, rebuking vs. compassion.
What can I give him, poor as I am.
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb.
If I were a wiseman, I would do my part.
Yet what can I give him, give Him my HEART.
