VIS is offering two opportunities to participate in Deacon Training. (Location: TBD)
- Monday, September 23, 2024 from 1-3pm
- Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 6:30-8:30pm

This training focuses on the ministry of justice and mercy in the church and the importance of connecting with members and those outside the church in life-giving ways that focus on sharing the gospel. The training is not about denominational systems but rather about a Deacon's role to lead through service, building Christ's kingdom one life at a time. Anyone who is a leader in this area of ministry is encouraged to attend.
The training will cover the following areas of responsibility:
- Benevolence
- Stewardship
- Justice and Mercy
- Community Ministry
It will also highlight strategies for mobilizing your congregation to serve within and outside of your congregation.
